University of Maryland President, Dr. Mote loves Terple!

I was incredibly honored when I received this letter from Dr. Mote, President of the University of Maryland – College Park (home of the Terps) after he was given a copy of Terple. I owe a lot of my success in life to the lessons I learned at College Park and this letter was a very “full circle” moment for me.

Dear Richie,

I thank you most sincerely for your gift of Terple both in spirit and in design. I appreciate greatly honoring the University associated with the idea of adventure, going to beyond perceived limits and charting new courses for people and society. Terple is a reptile after my own heart! Thanks for thinking of me.

Yours,

Dan Mote

Foreshadowing?

Foreshadowing? For my 30th birthday, my dad gave me a picture he had kept over the years of an art project I did in 1989! The project is a turtle made out of crushed, painted egg shells.  I was only 10 but something told me I had a spot in my heart for turtles.

I was honored when she asked to interview me for the site. Check it out!
